Laura Whitmore Shares Heartfelt Final Texts with Caroline Flack on Anniversary of Her Death

Five years after the tragic passing of Caroline Flack, Laura Whitmore has shared their final text messages, offering a poignant glimpse into their friendship and the support they offered each other. Flack, who tragically took her own life on February 15, 2020, had stepped down from hosting Love Island in December 2019, with Whitmore taking over the role.

Whitmore revealed the messages on Instagram, showcasing Flack's supportive nature during a difficult time. In one message, Flack wrote, "Hey xxx About to go see ITV. I hope you are doing the job xx. I wouldn't want it to be anyone else x." Whitmore replied, expressing her gratitude and acknowledging the ongoing discussions about the role.

Another exchange revealed Whitmore informing Flack about being offered the Love Island hosting position. Flack responded with a red heart emoji and said, "I'm glad it you xxx." Their final exchange included Whitmore thanking Flack for her public support and expressing hope that she was doing okay. Flack replied, "Thanks Laura... feeling a bit better... I really am looking forward to watching the show tho... it's perfect you and Iain doing it together xx," followed by heart emojis.

Whitmore explained that she rediscovered the messages while setting up a new phone and felt compelled to share them. "I think they show a side to Caroline which is nice to remember," she wrote, adding that she wanted to remember Caroline's supportive nature. Whitmore also acknowledged Flack's struggles, stating, "I never knew the extent of her struggles or what was to come. The last message from her to me were love hearts. I'd like to think wherever she is now, she's at peace and somewhere lovely like I hoped."
