Guwahati (Assam), January 19, 2024 – 'Ansuni Chinkhe', a moving short film written and directed by Dr. Parthasarathi Mahanta, has received notable recognition at the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) 2024.
Dr. Mahanta, who is also the Chief of the Special Task Force of Assam Police and Guwahati Police Commissioner, showcased his artistic talent through this impactful film.
Screened under the Worldwood International Panorama segment on January 17, the film captivated both audiences and critics. It was produced by Mina Mahanta and Indrani Baruah, further enhancing its appeal.
The film's sole character, portrayed by actress Seema Biswas, won her the prestigious Best Actress award. Additionally, Dr. Mahanta was honored with the Best Director award in the short film category.
Currently in its 17th edition, the Jaipur International Film Festival is one of the largest non-government film festivals in India. The event, which began on January 17 and runs until January 21, has received an impressive 2,408 entries from 88 countries, highlighting its global significance.
