Tom Cruise may be revving up for a major cinematic comeback after 34 years. Reports indicate that the actor is in discussions with Paramount Pictures to reprise his role in a sequel to the 1990 drama, Days of Thunder.
While there’s no official confirmation yet, the excitement surrounding a potential sequel is heightened by the recent successes of Cruise's franchises, including Top Gun and Mission: Impossible.
The original film, directed by Tony Scott, featured Cruise as Cole Trickle, a stock car driver navigating the NASCAR circuit, alongside Nicole Kidman as Dr. Claire Lewicki. This film was notable not only for its thrilling racing scenes but also as the backdrop for Cruise and Kidman's initial romance, which blossomed into marriage in December 1990.
As Cruise gears up for this potential return to the racetrack, he is also busy with Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, with its sequel slated for release on May 23, 2025.
