The 40th Warsaw International Film Festival (WFF) is set to run from October 11 to 20, 2024, featuring a remarkable lineup of 139 films from around the globe. This year’s festival will include 84 feature films and 55 short films, bringing together filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts in Poland's capital.
The festival kicks off with the opening film Kulej. All that Glitters Isn't Gold directed by Polish filmmaker Ksawery Żuławski. This captivating film tells the story of legendary Polish boxer Jerzy Kulej.
Among the highlights, the festival will proudly showcase eight films from Ukrainian directors, emphasizing the importance of Ukrainian cinema on the international stage. Screenings will take place at prominent Warsaw theaters including Kinoteka, Atlantic, and Iluzjon.
The WFF not only celebrates cinematic achievements but also serves as a platform for cultural exchange, making it a significant event in the film industry calendar.
