In response to a recent terrorist attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting alleged terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on May 7, 2025. The operation aimed to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and prevent further cross-border attacks.

Indian forces reportedly struck nine locations with missiles, including sites in Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Kotli. These locations are allegedly linked to banned outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The Indian government described the strikes as focused and non-escalatory, targeting terrorist infrastructure while avoiding Pakistani military facilities.

Pakistan condemned the strikes, claiming they hit civilian areas and resulted in casualties. Pakistani sources reported that at least 26 civilians were killed and many others injured. Following the strikes, reports indicated exchanges of fire across the Line of Control (LoC), resulting in casualties on both sides. The situation remains tense, with both countries accusing each other of escalating the conflict.
