Tokyo, Japan - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) announced its Wind Hunter Project has been selected by Japan's New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) for a project focused on realizing a hydrogen society.

The project will research optimal wind conditions for green hydrogen production around Japan, optimize hydrogen production vessels, and examine hydrogen supply chains. MOL aims to commercialize a demonstration vessel by the 2030s.

In March 2024, the Wind Hunter project successfully supplied green hydrogen produced offshore to shore for the first time. The Wind Hunter model is currently on display at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai Japan.
