Hitachi And Nvidia Partner To Cut Grid Interconnection Study Times

Edited by: an_lymons vilart

7 June 2025, USA: Hitachi and Southwest Power Pool (SPP) are collaborating on an AI-powered solution to expedite interconnection impact studies.

The aim is to reduce study durations from 18-27 months to under 12 months, using Nvidia's accelerated computing and AI technologies.

This initiative addresses the lengthy analysis and simulation processes that delay the integration of new energy sources into the grid.

The project will be deployed in phases, with the first phase expected to be completed by winter 2025/26, focusing on system acceleration and AI-augmented simulation.
