Edited by: Veronika Radoslavskaya

Starlink, Elon Musk's satellite internet venture, has been granted a Global Mobile Personal Communications by Satellite (GMPCS) license by India's Department of Telecommunications (DoT).

This marks a significant step towards Starlink's entry into the Indian market. The license allows Starlink to offer voice and data services via satellite, opening up possibilities for wider internet access.

The GMPCS license is valid for 20 years. Starlink has also secured other necessary licenses, including ISP and VSAT licenses.
