Porsche 963 RSP: Road-Legal Hypercar Inspired by Le Mans Legend

Edited by: Tetiana Pinchuk Pinchuk

Porsche unveils the 963 RSP, a road-legal hypercar inspired by its 963 endurance racer.

The car echoes the spirit of the road-going 917, a Le Mans legend from 50 years ago.

It is technically similar to its racing counterpart, which will compete at Le Mans.

The 963 RSP features a 671bhp hybrid drivetrain with a 4.6-litre twin-turbo V8, derived from the Porsche 918 Spyder.

Based on an LMP2 chassis from Multimatic, the car is designed for road use by Porsche's Sonderwunsch division in Atlanta.

The car has already proven its capabilities by driving on roads around Le Mans.

The 963 RSP is commissioned by Roger Searle Penske, hence the 'RSP' moniker.
