Google Adds Visible Watermark to Veo 3 AI-Generated Videos for Enhanced Transparency

Edited by: Veronika Radoslavskaya

Google has implemented a visible watermark on videos generated by its Veo 3 AI model. This watermark appears in the bottom right corner of the video, serving as a clear indicator that the content is AI-generated.

The introduction of this visible watermark is a measure to enhance transparency and help users easily identify AI-generated content. Veo 3 is capable of producing highly realistic videos, which raises concerns about potential misuse and the spread of misinformation.

Veo 3 was announced at Google I/O 2025 in May and is available to users in the U.S. and the U.K. through a Gemini AI Ultra subscription. The addition of a visible watermark complements the existing SynthID watermark, an invisible marker embedded in all content generated by Google's AI tools.
