Apple launched the new iPad mini, featuring the A17 Pro chip and a personal intelligence system called Apple Intelligence, designed to enhance user experience while ensuring privacy.
The device boasts an ultraportable design with an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display and is available in four finishes, including new blue and purple options. The A17 Pro chip offers a significant performance boost, including a 2x faster Neural Engine and support for advanced AI applications.
Apple Intelligence will roll out its first features this month through a software update, available for iPads with the A17 Pro or M1 chips. This includes enhanced connectivity with Wi-Fi 6E, allowing for faster downloads and streaming.
The iPad mini supports Apple Pencil Pro, enabling new creative capabilities. Users can quickly switch tools and colors without interrupting their workflow. The device also enhances gaming experiences with hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
New features in iPadOS 18 include Math Notes, which allows users to solve mathematical expressions written by hand, and Smart Script, which refines handwritten notes in real time. Additional features will be introduced over the coming months, including tools for image creation and enhanced Siri capabilities, integrating ChatGPT for improved user interaction.
The new iPad mini starts at B17,900 for 128GB of storage, doubling the capacity of the previous generation.
