The Government Council of Castilla y León has approved an investment exceeding €817,000 for environmental projects in Salamanca. The funds will be channeled through TRAGSA for habitat restoration. This initiative aims to benefit biodiversity and sustainable use in several municipalities.

Specifically, €488,861 will be allocated to restore forest habitats within the Red Natura 2000 network. These restoration efforts will occur in public utility mountains across Casillas de Flores, El Cubo de Don Sancho and other areas. The goal is to revitalize these forests, crucial for regional ecological balance. The announcement was made on May 29, 2025.

Another €329,091 will be invested in improving pastures and conserving wetlands. This investment seeks to enhance the natural richness and ecosystem services provided by these environments. The works aim to favor various flora species, especially those associated with mountain pastures, and improve amphibian habitats.
