In Cheyenne, Wyoming, cryptocurrency exchange Kraken officially relocated its U.S. headquarters. This move highlights Wyoming's progressive stance on digital asset regulation.

Wyoming has established a comprehensive legal framework with over 30 laws tailored to the cryptocurrency sector. Kraken's co-CEO, Arjun Sethi, emphasized the significance of this transition, recognizing Wyoming's leadership in digital asset regulation.

Wyoming treats crypto as property and protects users. In 2025, Wyoming initiated testing of WYST, a state-backed stablecoin, across multiple blockchains. Senator Cynthia Lummis expressed enthusiasm for Kraken's move, underscoring Wyoming's innovative approach. On June 20, 2025, the exchange announced plans to expand its services in the state.
