Bitcoin Dips Amidst Trump's Iran Stance

Edited by: Elena Weismann

Washington, D.C. - Today, Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies experienced a sharp decline in response to former U.S. President Donald Trump's strong statements regarding Iran. The market reacted to the perceived macroeconomic uncertainty, leading to a downturn in key cryptocurrencies.

Within an hour of Trump's post, Bitcoin (BTC) fell from $104,310 to $103,553 before recovering to $105,450, according to CoinMarketCap data. Ethereum (ETH) dropped 1.3% to $2,462, and XRP also fell 1.3% to $2.14.

The Fear & Greed Index for the crypto market fell 16 points to 52, shifting from "Greed" to "Neutral" for the first time in 11 days. Analysts suggest that the current tensions could lead Bitcoin to retest the $100,000 psychological level.
