Bybit Hack: $90 Million Laundered via Wasabi Mixer, $960 Million Converted to Bitcoin

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

A recent report indicates that over $90 million in funds stolen from the Bybit hack have been laundered through Wasabi Mixer. These funds were then processed through privacy-focused platforms, including CryptoMixer, Tornado Cash, and Railgun, to obscure their origin.

Bybit CEO stated that 68.57% of the stolen Ethereum is still traceable, while 3.84% of the funds have been frozen. Approximately 343,000 ETH (worth over $960 million) has been converted into about 10,000 BTC and distributed across nearly 36,000 wallets.

Bybit has received 5,443 bounty submissions from on-chain investigators in two months. Of these, 70 have been verified, and 12 contributors have been rewarded $2.3 million for their efforts in tracking the stolen funds.
