The Sultanate of Oman has launched its first tourist hot air balloon as part of the "Oman Balloons" project. The initiative began in Cappadocia, Turkiye, as a promotional phase. This project aims to diversify Oman's tourism offerings and strengthen its position as a unique destination.
The project seeks to attract international expertise in hot air balloon tourism and localize it in Oman. This will contribute to the growth of tourism experiences and provide new options for tourists. It also supports private sector-led tourism initiatives and enhances public-private partnerships.
"Oman Balloon No. 1" will commence flights in the Wilayat of Bidiyah, North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. It offers a unique experience to explore Oman's landscapes from the sky. The balloon, approved by the Civil Aviation Authority in Oman, can carry up to 20 passengers plus crew.
The "Oman Balloons" project promotes experiential tourism and provides panoramic views of tourist sites. This highlights Oman's natural and cultural richness from an innovative perspective. It also attracts visitors seeking unique travel experiences.
