Japanese Finance Minister Katsunobu Kato announced his plans to attend the upcoming Group of Seven (G7) economic powers meeting in Canada.
The meeting is scheduled for next week. Kato also expressed his hope to hold a bilateral meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent during the G7 summit.
Discussions with Secretary Bessent could potentially include the topic of U.S. tariffs, according to Minister Kato.
