Tilda Swinton Celebrates Pedro Almodóvar at San Sebastian Film Festival 2024

The 72nd San Sebastian Film Festival awarded the Golden Shell for Best Film to Albert Serra's Afternoons of Solitude, a documentary exploring the life of renowned bullfighter Andrés Roca Rey. Critics have praised the film as visceral and compelling, setting it apart from narrative features by notable directors like Joshua Oppenheimer and Edward Berger.

In addition, Pamela Anderson and the cast of Gia Coppola's The Last Showgirl received the Special Jury Prize for Best Ensemble Cast. The film, while noted for its aesthetic focus, has been recognized for its empathetic portrayal of Las Vegas dancers facing devaluation.

Laura Carreira and Pedro Martin-Calero shared the Silver Shell for Best Director for their respective films On Falling and The Wailing. Patricia López Arnaiz won Best Leading Performance for Glimmers, while Pierre Lottin took home Best Supporting Performance for When Fall is Coming.
