A historic townhouse in Manhattan's Upper East Side, once serving as the studio for renowned abstract painter Mark Rothko, has been listed for sale at $9.5 million. The property, located at 155 East 69th Street, is a 19th-century carriage house that Rothko utilized during the 1960s to create works for the Rothko Chapel in Houston. The studio features a central skylit room, which influenced the Chapel's design. The residence includes a spacious living area, formal dining room, eat-in kitchen, and three bedrooms, along with a private garden.
