Tom Brady, the legendary NFL quarterback, is reportedly happy for his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, following the birth of her third child, her first with current partner Joaquim Valente.
A source close to Brady told Page Six that he is "happy for Gisele" and "wishes her the best." Another source told the same outlet that Brady "reached out to Bündchen to congratulate her." Brady has not publicly commented on the birth of his ex-wife's child.
Brady and Bündchen, who announced their divorce in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage, share two children: Vivian, 11, and Benjamin, 15. Brady is also father to John Edward Thomas, 'Jack,' with actress Bridget Moynahan.
While Bündchen is embracing a new chapter in her personal life, Brady is focusing on his children and his work, abstaining from dating. On February 9, Brady will make his debut as an analyst for Fox Sports during the Super Bowl, a significant professional challenge. The game will be held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, where the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs will compete for the championship.
In late October, it was revealed that the news of Bündchen's pregnancy had taken Brady by surprise. A source told Page Six that the former New England Patriots player never imagined Bündchen would have a baby with her boyfriend. "Tom knew things were serious between Gisele and Joaquim, but he never imagined they would have a child together," the source said. "It wasn't something that was on his radar. So when Gisele broke the news, he was taken aback, to say the least." The source added that "after the initial shock wore off," Brady has come to terms with his ex-wife's new motherhood and is happy for her. "At the end of the day, Tom is solely focused on his kids and his career. What Gisele decides to do with her life is none of his business," the source said.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reported in December that Brady had faced some difficulties in dating, seemingly trying to overcome the pain of Bündchen's new romance. "Finding out Gisele was pregnant hurt him," a source told the British tabloid. "Tom had to express his feelings about it and he did so in his own time," the source continued. "There aren't many people who see Tom behind closed doors, but those who do can see he was upset. It was a hard pill to swallow. He never thought something like that would happen," the source added.
"But she is still the mother of two of his kids, so he wants her to be happy. He has to move on and, as she is pregnant, he has definitely moved on, so he can't be upset about it anymore. It's out of his control, out of his hands. He's not going to let it affect him anymore," the source added.
