Greek Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni is visiting the United States to oversee the repatriation of several Greek antiquities. The initiative is a result of bilateral cooperation focused on protecting cultural heritage. On Friday, a ceremony will be held at the Greek Embassy in Washington, D.C., for the return of specific artifacts. On Monday, Mendoni will attend a ceremony at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) in New York for the repatriation of a bronze Griffin head. A further repatriation ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, involving 11 ancient artifacts mandated by the New York State Attorney General's office. Mendoni will also participate in a panel at the MET discussing cultural heritage and collaboration, specifically focusing on the Cyclades.
