Shenzhen Introduces Autonomous Delivery Robots on Metro System

Modificato da: Елена 11

Shenzhen has launched an innovative pilot project integrating autonomous delivery robots into its metro system. These robots autonomously navigate subway lines to deliver goods to convenience stores located within metro stations, marking a significant advancement in urban logistics.

The initiative is a collaboration between Shenzhen Metro Group and VX Logistics, a subsidiary of Vanke Group. The robots are equipped with AI-powered scheduling systems and multi-sensor navigation, enabling them to plan optimal delivery routes, avoid obstacles, and manage train boarding and station navigation independently.

This development aims to streamline the delivery process to metro station stores, reducing reliance on traditional ground transportation methods that often face challenges such as congestion and limited parking. By operating during off-peak hours, the robots enhance delivery efficiency and contribute to the reduction of surface-level traffic.

The project aligns with Shenzhen's broader strategy to promote intelligent urban logistics and smart infrastructure. It serves as a testbed for integrating robotics into urban services, with potential applications extending beyond retail logistics to other sectors within the city's transportation network.
