On November 24, 2024, an F-16 fighter jet fired two missiles at an unidentified flying object (UFO) over Lake Huron, located between Michigan and Ontario. This incident marks the third UFO sighting following the destruction of a Chinese balloon on February 4.
The object was described as an octagonal shape with hanging cables, slowly descending into the water after the strike. The U.S. Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Mounted Police initiated recovery operations, which were suspended weeks later due to adverse weather conditions. The fate of the object remained undisclosed until CTV News learned that the Canadian police had resumed searches, discovered debris, and sent it for analysis.
A police representative confirmed the find and noted ongoing collaboration with international partners. A document obtained indicated that the object posed no national security threat and was likely a weather balloon launched by the National Weather Service radar station in Michigan.
