Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Managing Director and CEO of Fidelity Bank, emphasized the transformative power of education, stating that it serves as a bridge to opportunity. She highlighted the bank's commitment to expanding access to quality education through this initiative.
The solar-powered bags are designated for schools across all 20 local government areas in Ogun State. The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4, which promotes inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
Fidelity Bank's broader investment in education includes the SWEETA School Fees Support Initiative, which has provided substantial tuition support to eligible customers, and the Read2Lead Writing Competition, impacting thousands of students nationwide through prizes and grants. Additionally, the bank offers Back-to-School Loans for parents and the Fidelity EduLoan to assist schools with infrastructure upgrades and asset acquisition. The Green Energy Financing Program complements the solar-powered bag initiative by promoting sustainable energy use in education via solar energy.
