Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Argentina and Paraguay signed a memorandum of understanding on July 2, 2025, during the Mercosur summit in Buenos Aires. This agreement aims to integrate Argentina's natural gas supply into the Paraguayan market and, subsequently, to Brazil.

The agreement, signed by key ministers from both countries, focuses on creating a binational working group. This group will assess the conditions for exporting natural gas from Argentina, particularly from the Vaca Muerta formation. The plan involves utilizing the Bioceanic Road Corridor for transport.

The initiative seeks to diversify the regional energy matrix and boost industrial development, particularly in strategic areas like the Paraguayan Chaco. The agreement is expected to enhance energy cooperation and create economic opportunities for both nations. Key figures from both countries attended the signing, highlighting the importance of the deal.
