Turkish FM to Visit Damascus Amid Reconciliation Efforts

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is scheduled to visit Damascus, Syria. This visit follows Canada's recent decision to lift financial sanctions on Syria and appoint an ambassador in Damascus, aiming to support Syrian institutions. According to the Canadian Special Envoy to Syria, Canada seeks to play a role in enabling Syrians to build a unified country that respects all its citizens and to prevent Syria from becoming a haven for instability. In other news, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with members of the German Parliament to discuss enhancing cooperation between the Egyptian Parliament and the Foreign Ministry. Shoukry emphasized the importance of the parliamentary sector's role in supporting the Foreign Ministry and promoting Egyptian foreign policy. Discussions also covered ways to enhance parliamentary diplomacy to serve Egypt's foreign policy interests.
