Qatar And Egypt To Intensify Efforts For Gaza Truce

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Qatar and Egypt have announced plans to increase their efforts to negotiate a truce in Gaza. This announcement comes as Hamas has stated its readiness to immediately engage in fresh talks. The two nations will coordinate with the United States in these efforts.

The goal is to overcome obstacles hindering the negotiations. Qatar and Egypt are striving for a 60-day temporary truce. This truce is intended to pave the way for a permanent ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Previous mediation attempts involving Doha, Cairo, and Washington have not yet yielded a breakthrough. Hamas has indicated a willingness to negotiate based on a US-backed truce proposal. The proposal includes the release of hostages.
