Pakistan is planning to establish a 'Quantum Valley' to boost technological innovation. The initiative aims to mirror Silicon Valley's success by creating a hub for emerging technologies. This was announced during a high-level strategic meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal.
The project will include science parks specializing in areas like agri-tech and biotechnology. It also focuses on promoting civil-defense fusion in Research and Development. The goal is to accelerate high-tech industrialization and adapt global innovation models to meet Pakistan's specific needs.
The execution of Quantum Valley Pakistan will involve multiple ministries. These include the Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Information Technology, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. The National Technology Fund (Ignite) will also be involved in this transformative project.
