China Introduces Nationwide Childcare Subsidy Program to Support Families

16:08, 28 July

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

China has launched a nationwide childcare subsidy program to support families and encourage childbirth. Starting in 2025, families will receive an annual subsidy of 3,600 yuan (approximately $503) for each child under the age of three. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden of raising children and address demographic challenges, including declining birth rates and an aging population. The subsidies will be exempt from individual income tax and will not be counted as household or individual income when identifying assistance recipients. This policy reflects China's commitment to supporting families and promoting a birth-friendly environment.
