Edited by: Anna 🌎 Krasko

On July 1, 2025, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Carlos Fávaro announced the 2025/2026 Safra Plan, allocating R$516.2 billion to agribusiness.

This represents an R$8 billion increase compared to the previous harvest, with funds designated for both operational costs and investments. The plan also introduces the requirement to comply with the Climatic Risk Zoning (Zarc) for agricultural credit release.

Additionally, the government launched the National Program for the Reduction of Pesticides (Pronara), aiming to reduce the use of harmful pesticides and promote sustainable production models. This program aligns agricultural production with sustainability and public health, reflecting the government's commitment to strengthening the Brazilian agricultural sector.
