Egypt Proposes New Gaza Ceasefire Deal; Israel's Response Awaited

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Egypt has presented a new proposal to Israel and Hamas for a ceasefire in Gaza. The proposal suggests a truce lasting between 40 and 70 days in exchange for the release of eight living hostages and the remains of eight deceased hostages held by Hamas. The Egyptian plan also includes provisions for humanitarian aid to enter Gaza and negotiations for a second phase of the truce. While Hamas has yet to comment publicly, Israeli authorities have reportedly rejected the initiative due to a clause addressing the end of the conflict. Egypt is also seeking support for its plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip.
