Negotino, North Macedonia - July 9, 2025 - The construction of a gas interconnector between North Macedonia and Greece has commenced.
The project, costing approximately 60 million euros, is being realized by the Macedonian company "Rapid Build." The interconnector will span 67 kilometers, connecting Negotino to Greece.
The project aims to provide an alternative source of natural gas for North Macedonia, enhancing its energy security.
The interconnector is expected to be operational within 22 months, with full operation planned for 2027.
The project will provide a stable gas supply and lower prices for citizens, and it will position North Macedonia as part of the European energy market.
