Romania, Norway, and France Aid Evacuation of Injured Palestinians from Gaza Strip via EU Mechanism

A Romanian Air Force C-130 Hercules evacuated 13 Palestinian patients from Gaza, severely affected by lack of medical treatment, along with 34 family members. The aircraft departed from Otopeni Airport, Romania, and landed at Ilan and Asaf Ramon International Airport in Israel. Medical assistance was provided by a team from UPU-SMURD and MApN. Seven patients, including six children, will receive treatment in Bucharest hospitals. Three adult patients were transferred to Norway via Romanian Air Force, and three patients were transported to France by Luxembourg authorities. The mission followed requests from the European Commission's Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC), via CECIS, under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. The operation involved collaboration between multiple ministries, the World Health Organization, COGAT, Magen David Adom, and Habitat for Humanity.
