Trump Hints At Easing Iran Sanctions Amidst Middle East Ceasefire

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

At the NATO Summit, U.S. President Donald Trump suggested a possible relaxation of U.S. sanctions on Iran, particularly regarding oil sales. He cited the need for Iran to rebuild, stating, "They're going to need money to put that country back into shape."

This follows a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, which has reduced regional hostilities. The international community has largely welcomed the ceasefire, hoping it will lead to further diplomatic engagements and decreased tensions.

Despite the ceasefire, the U.S. Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on entities supplying sensitive machinery to Iran's defense industry. China has expressed concerns about the impact of U.S. sanctions on regional stability, with President Xi Jinping calling for de-escalation and diplomacy.
