Tokyo has lodged a complaint with Beijing following incidents where Chinese fighter jets reportedly came dangerously close to Japanese patrol aircraft. These events occurred over the weekend in international waters of the Pacific Ocean.
According to Japan's Defense Ministry, a Chinese J-15 fighter jet approached within 45 meters of a Japanese P-3C patrol aircraft on Saturday. The jet tailed the Japanese aircraft for approximately 40 minutes.
The Ministry also reported a similar incident the following day, where another Chinese jet shadowed a Japanese patrol craft for over 80 minutes. Japan views these actions as provocative and has expressed its concerns to China.
