Harvard Sues Us Government After International Student Enrollment Revoked

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Harvard University has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government after the Department of Homeland Security revoked its ability to enroll international students. The university argues this action is a blatant violation of the U.S. Constitution and federal laws, impacting over 7,000 visa holders. Harvard claims the revocation is retaliation for exercising its First Amendment rights and rejecting government demands regarding governance and curriculum. The Department of Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem, stated the revocation was due to Harvard's alleged failure to address antisemitism, promote pro-Hamas sympathies, and implement racist policies. Noem demanded Harvard provide records on foreign students within 72 hours to regain its certification. Beijing criticized the U.S. decision, calling it a politicization of educational exchanges and pledging to protect the rights of Chinese students.
