Gaza: Aid Deliveries Resume but Fail to Reach Civilians Amidst Humanitarian Crisis

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Aid deliveries to Gaza have resumed, but the Palestinian Red Crescent reports they are failing to reach civilians. This stalled relief effort has sparked fears of looting and a deepening humanitarian crisis. The situation is dire after a nearly three-month blockade.

The Palestinian Red Crescent warned on Thursday that aid trucks allowed into Gaza this week have not yet reached civilians. The limited number of deliveries risks fueling chaos and violence. UN agencies have expressed frustration with the scale and pace of deliveries.

Younis Al-Khatib, President of the Palestine Red Crescent Society, stated that no civilians have received aid. He added that many trucks remain at the Karem Shalom border crossing. Palestinian health authorities report rising starvation-related deaths, with at least 29 children and elderly individuals dead in recent days.

While some bakeries are expected to receive flour to produce bread, this is insufficient to compensate for the shortages. Israel has said it will permit basic food supplies into Gaza to avert a humanitarian crisis. However, UN agencies warn the proposed aid distribution system could force people to relocate to access aid.
