Eu softens co2 emission targets for cars and vans

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Brussels, May 7 - European Union governments have agreed to softer CO2 emission targets for cars and vans.

This adjustment allows automakers more time to comply with the regulations. It should also reduce potential fines for non-compliance.

The European Commission proposed allowing automakers to meet targets based on average emissions from 2025-2027, instead of just this year. The parliament is expected to approve the adjustment in a vote on Thursday.
