Us Warns Iran over Support for Houthis Amidst Nuclear Talks

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a warning to Iran on Wednesday regarding its support for the Houthis. The Houthis, controlling northern Yemen, have been attacking shipping in the Red Sea, claiming solidarity with Palestinians.

Hegseth stated on X that the U.S. is aware of Iran's support for the Houthis and that Iran will face consequences. This warning coincides with the resumption of nuclear talks between the U.S. and Iran in Rome on Saturday.

The U.S. military has increased its presence in the Middle East, deploying assets including B-2 bombers to Diego Garcia. The Pentagon also has two aircraft carriers in the region and has moved air defense systems from Asia.
