Automakers oppose california's gas car ban, impacting vehicle sales

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Major automakers are urging Congress to block California's plan to end gasoline-only vehicle sales by 2035. Eleven other states have adopted this plan.

The U.S. House will vote on legislation to repeal the EPA waiver granted to California. This waiver allows California to mandate at least 80% electric vehicle sales by 2035.

Automakers warn they may be forced to reduce overall vehicle sales to increase electric vehicle sales. This could impact vehicle shipments in the coming months.
