Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) reported the destruction of a Russian Su-30SM fighter jet at the "Rostov-on-Don Central" airfield in the Rostov region on April 24.
According to the GUR, the multirole fighter with tail number 35 was destroyed and burned. Video released by Ukrainian intelligence shows fire and smoke near a Su-30SM aircraft.
Radio Svoboda's analysis of satellite images from April 24 confirms signs of a fire at the airfield. The estimated cost of the destroyed aircraft is $50 million. It is not clear whether the destruction was the result of sabotage.
