Israeli Drone Strike in Aitaroun, Lebanon Kills Hezbollah Commander and Civilians Amidst Ongoing Tensions

On current day, an Israeli drone strike targeted a car in Aitaroun, Lebanon, resulting in one fatality and three injuries, including a child, according to the Lebanese ministry. The Israeli military reported that it eliminated a commander belonging to Hezbollah's special operations division in the region. Despite a ceasefire agreement that went into effect on November 27, Israeli forces maintain five positions in southern Lebanon and continue to conduct attacks. The UN has reported that 71 civilians have been killed by the Israeli army in Lebanon since the ceasefire, including women and children. The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah escalated in September 2024, leading to significant casualties on both sides.
