EU to Forge Ahead with Ukraine Peace Plan Amid Ongoing Conflict

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the EU must urgently rebuild Ukraine to prevent its potential destabilization by aggressors. This announcement comes as the EU is set to present a comprehensive plan at a special summit in Brussels on March 6, aiming to bolster Ukraine's resilience and facilitate reconstruction efforts. European Council President Antonio Costa affirmed the European Union's commitment to working with partners on a peace plan for Ukraine. Costa highlighted that consultations ahead of the London summit were "deeply useful and important." Von der Leyen emphasized the importance of providing guarantees for Ukraine's security, stating that ensuring security is paramount. She further added that Europe must rework Ukraine into a stable democracy that cannot be undermined by potential aggressors, underscoring the EU's dedication to supporting Ukraine's stability and future.
