PLD Space has partnered with Oman's Etlaq spaceport to expand its launch capabilities, particularly in Eastern markets. The agreement, announced on February 20, 2025, at the Etlaq Launch Conference in Muscat, marks PLD Space as the first major launch provider to operate from the Omani facility. The Etlaq spaceport, located in Duqm, offers access to commercially significant orbits, including low, medium, and high-inclination orbits. PLD Space plans to use the facility to support its MIURA 5 launch schedule, with a goal of 30 flights by 2030. The first MIURA 5 flight from Etlaq is targeted for 2027. The partnership aims to address the current shortage of launch infrastructure and provide customers with greater proximity to launch bases. Etlaq's location offers logistical advantages, a stable climate, and a vast ocean downrange area for mission safety. The spaceport is designed to accommodate the MIURA rocket family, including future crewed missions aboard the LINCE capsule. PLD Space is also committed to fostering local economic growth through job creation and supply chain development.
