This mission follows the H3's previous successful flights, including the deployment of the ALOS-4 Earth-observation satellite on June 30, 2024. The H3 rocket, developed by JAXA and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, is a medium-lift vehicle designed to replace the retiring H-2A rocket.
The Kirameki 3 satellite will operate in geostationary orbit, enabling continuous communication capabilities for the Japanese military. This innovative satellite will communicate using the X band, enhancing Japan's defense infrastructure.
