June 26, 2025, Uzbekistan - A pilot biogas facility is set to convert organic waste into methane, following discussions between Uzbekistan's Minister of Ecology and Haruki Yamasaki, CEO of Le One Co., Ltd. The project aims to drive sustainable energy and waste management.
The facility will generate biogas from biological waste, refining it into methane using hybrid circulation technology. This includes chemical washing and deep purification systems. The project is backed by a $4 million grant from Japan's NEDO for 2025-2030.
Beyond methane, the facility will improve waste disposal, reduce emissions, and produce biohumus. A formal cooperation agreement between Le One Co., Ltd. and Uzbekistan's Agency for Waste Management will be signed. This aligns with Uzbekistan's broader green economy initiatives, including plans for carbon credit trading and waste-to-energy projects.
