China, May 29, 2025. The Ningxia-Wuzhong power grid reached a total installed energy storage capacity of 2 million kW / 4 million kWh on May 27th. This advancement boosts annual green electricity consumption by over 1 billion kWh. State Grid Wuzhong Power Supply Company has connected 16 grid-side energy storage power stations, accounting for 42.7% of Ningxia's total independent energy storage capacity. This expansion saves approximately 360,000 tons of standard coal and reduces CO2 emissions by about 950,000 tons annually. By 2025, Wuzhong power grid aims to add 4 million kW of new energy capacity and 1.16 million kW / 3.02 million kWh of new energy storage capacity. The company is optimizing grid connection services and promoting integration of energy storage with renewable sources.
