Go Energy Group Unveils Europe's First Green AI Campus in Spain

Edited by: an_lymons

Dubai-based multinational Go Energy Group announced a landmark initiative on December 5, 2025, marking the commencement of Project TRON. This venture represents the inauguration of Europe's inaugural hyperscale 'green' Artificial Intelligence campus. The massive facility is slated for development across three municipalities in Spain’s Huelva province: San Juan del Puerto, Trigueros, and Gibraleón, specifically situated on the Milares estate. Operational readiness for this cutting-edge campus is scheduled for 2028.

The selection of the general contractor, TSK, was confirmed around December 9. TSK brings four decades of extensive experience in industrial and renewable energy projects to the table, making them a highly suitable partner for this endeavor. The campus is designed to boast a substantial capacity of 200 MW, operating exclusively on power derived from renewable sources. This ambitious undertaking represents a significant financial commitment, with total investments projected to surpass 1.5 billion euros, which is expected to catalyze the creation of thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities within the region.

Seamless Integration with Green Hydrogen Initiatives

A key feature of Project TRON is its deep integration with TSK’s existing green hydrogen and ammonia production projects. This synergy is crucial for ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the AI campus. Specifically, TRON will benefit from a 100 MW facility located in San Juan del Puerto and another 70 MW installation in Gibraleón, totaling 170 MW of dedicated green power generation capacity.

This strategic alignment underscores Go Energy’s broader commitment to decarbonization in Spain. The overall investment by Go Energy into the Spanish 'Green Hydrogen Valley'—which also encompasses projects on the Balearic Islands and in Almusafes (Valencia)—is set to exceed 2 billion euros. The consortium backing this monumental effort includes several major industry players: NVIDIA, Garrigues, Ally, Power Electronics, Neurair, and Value On, highlighting the project's significant industrial backing.

Regional Significance and Official Endorsement

The Spanish authorities have officially recognized the TRON project as being of public interest and possessing supra-municipal importance. This designation is instrumental, as it streamlines the regulatory and implementation processes for the development within Huelva. The initiative is poised to firmly establish the region as a central hub for sustainable AI computing across the entire European continent.

The establishment of this facility signals a pivotal moment, marrying the rapidly expanding demands of high-performance computing with stringent environmental responsibility. By prioritizing renewable energy from the outset, Go Energy Group is setting a new benchmark for large-scale technological infrastructure development in Europe, moving beyond mere compliance toward genuine sustainability leadership.
