July 3, 2025, Ghana: The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition announced the Declaration of Commerciality (DoC) for the Eban and Akoma oil and gas discoveries.

The DoC was submitted by the Joint Venture partners, marking a step toward unlocking new energy resources.

The appraisal confirmed the commercial viability of hydrocarbons in the Eban-1X (oil) and Akoma-1X (gas and condensate) wells.

Following the declaration, the JV Partners will commence work on a comprehensive Plan of Development (PoD).

Ghana's gold reserves reached 32.99 tonnes in June 2025, a nearly fourfold increase from May 2023.

This surge reflects efforts to bolster financial stability and diversify foreign reserves.
