Brave Browser Surpasses 100 Million Monthly Active Users Amidst Privacy-Focused Growth

Edited by: Veronika Radoslavskaya

Brave, the privacy-focused web browser, has announced it has surpassed 101 million monthly active users and 42 million daily active users as of September 2025. This growth averages approximately 2.5 million new users each month over the past two years, reflecting a global increase in awareness regarding digital privacy and a demand for alternatives to pervasive data collection practices.

In Europe, regulatory changes have significantly boosted Brave's adoption. The implementation of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and Apple's mandate to offer browser choices on iOS devices have directly contributed to a substantial 50% increase in daily Brave installations on iPhones within the European Union after the implementation of the DMA and the release of iOS 17.4 in 2024.

Brave Search, the browser's integrated search engine launched in 2021, has also experienced considerable growth, now processing over 1.6 billion queries monthly, equating to nearly 20 billion annually. The platform is also at the forefront of AI integration, delivering over 15 million AI-generated responses daily without user profiling. The recently introduced "Ask Brave" feature combines traditional search with an AI-based chatbot, offering more detailed answers and contextual materials.

CEO Brendan Eich views this user milestone as a movement advocating for a web experience that prioritizes the user. Brave continues to expand its ecosystem of privacy-centric services, including a VPN, a cryptocurrency wallet, video messaging, and its AI assistant, Brave Leo. The company is also developing advanced AI agents, supported by its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, which allows AI applications to access real-world data in a standardized manner.
